I am now the proud new wearer of a lower teeth retainer… thus far I am lisping beautifully… I’ve never had braces or anything before, contrary to myth, not all Brits have ugly teeth. Unfortunately, an injury from three years ago loosened one of my front lower teeth which veeerrrrrry sloooowwwly pushed a center lower tooth out of alignment. The orthodontist I consulted said over time it would get worse …. so, voila! for the next 3-4 months or so I get to walk around with my lower teeth encased in plastic and metal for *only* about 18 hours a day. Aside from the moderate pain, it’s really not that bad … as long as I take all words with the letter “s” out of my vocabulary.
