Not long ago I met a lovely young lady at myPub. Within a couple of hours she was sufficiently liquored-up comfortable enough with me to volunteer to model for me. By “volunteer”, of course, I mean she pretty much demanded that I photograph her. Since I am about to share intimate photos of her with my 300 closest internet friends, I shall protect what’s left of her privacy by referring to her as “Henry” (private joke).

Henry and I got together the following weekend and underwent a strenuous four-hour photo shoot. Henry had no previous modelling experience but she was very obedient in following my multiple directions. I tried to warn her that some of the body positions were going to be very . . . challenging. And that she would not only have to hold that position while I fiddled around with tripod placement and camera angles, but she’d also have to maintain a relaxed facial expression. Needless to say she mentioned more than once that her back was about to break, but she’s a liar because despite my best efforts at contorting her body, her spine remained intact. For the standing-up shots I had her arching so hard and for so long that I was afraid she was going to pass out. At one point I was straddling her on the bed and trying to keep my balance while she tried not to giggle. At another point I was wrapping DANGER tape around her naked body and I found myself with my face basically in her crotch. She cracked up when I mumbled “It’s at times like this that I wish I was a lesbian”. We had quite a few more comedic moments but that just helped us both to relax more. Overall, the shoot was a lot of fun. As were the several glasses of chardonnay that we each imbibed.

I spent a fair amount of time in the handy-dandy photo-editing programme that I favour. Henry is a big fan of the brightly-coloured special effects shots (and probably of shiny things too), so I obliged her by applying a few different artsy angles and effects to some of the photos.

At about this point I’m pretty sure that not one of the guys is still reading. So, to prove that I *can* photograph people other than myself, here are a few sample shots [posted with the permission of the model]:
